Purges are a joke if you have at least 1 good thrall with epic heavy armor and a good 2h sword. The easiest good thrall to get is probably the cimmerian berserker in mounds of the dead (100% spawn). You can also farm a full set of epic heavy armor from mounds of the dead. An easy to get 2h sword is dragonbone.
