Arapahoe is a tiny unincorporated community spread across eastern Colorado by the Kansas border. It was established in 1870 at an elevation of 4,026 ft. To the east is Cheyenne Wells, the county seat of Cheyenne County. History. The original town of Arapahoe was founded in 1859 in modern day Jefferson County, and is now a withered ghost town.
